Before you start
- Sign in to the intended workspace with placement editing access (supply.write), such as the tenant_admin or tenant_editor role.
- Start with an existing placement. This walkthrough uses Homepage preroll, public ID homepage-preroll, under Harbor News from Create your first web video placement.
- Choose values appropriate for your inventory and check the currency displayed beside Floor CPM. The recording uses 2.50 and 100 as demonstration values, not pricing or capacity recommendations.
Step-by-step guide
-
Open the existing placement’s Pricing & floors tab
Choose Supply, then Placements. Find Homepage preroll and use its Open action. On Setup, check the placement name, public ID, and owning publisher. Open Pricing & floors once you have confirmed the intended record.
-
Set Floor CPM and QPS limit
Enter 2.50 in Floor CPM and 100 in QPS limit. Check the displayed currency and the two values. Floor CPM may display 2.5000 after you move to the next field. Leave the other pricing settings unchanged for this walkthrough.
- Floor CPM
2.50 - The minimum clear price per thousand impressions, in the currency shown beside the field. Enter a decimal amount. When you leave the field, 2.50 displays as 2.5000; it is the same amount.
- QPS limit
100 - The placement’s maximum bid requests per second setting. Enter a whole number. This walkthrough saves the setting; measuring its effect requires a separate traffic test.
- Floor CPM
-
Preview the pending changes
Select Preview change. Review the result, any warnings, and the before-and-after values. Scroll through the diff table to find floor and qps_limit. Confirm that the floor is 2.5000 and the request limit is 100. The preview may also list unchanged fields and default values; read the warnings before proceeding. The preview checks the proposed edit without saving it.
-
Close the preview and save
If the preview reports that the server would apply the change and the values are correct, select Close, then Save. Wait for the save to finish. If the console reports an error, resolve it before continuing.
-
Reload and check both values
Reload the detail page and return to Pricing & floors if needed. Confirm that you are still on Homepage preroll and that Floor CPM is 2.5000 and QPS limit is 100. This checks the saved placement settings.
Check the saved settings
- The edited placement is Homepage preroll, public ID homepage-preroll, under Harbor News in the intended workspace.
- Floor CPM is 2.5000, equivalent to the entered 2.50, in the displayed currency.
- QPS limit is 100, and both values remain after reloading Pricing & floors.
This walkthrough verifies saved settings. It does not measure request throttling, auction outcomes, fill, or revenue. Verify delivery separately with your serving integration and traffic.
Troubleshooting
Why did 2.50 become 2.5000?
The money field displays four decimal places after you leave it. 2.50 and 2.5000 represent the same amount. Check the currency shown beside the field as well as the number.
I cannot edit the fields, or the save is forbidden.
Check the selected workspace and ask an administrator to confirm your role and supply.write permission. A read-only role can inspect the settings without changing them.
Preview change reports a refusal, a warning, or an error.
Read the result and review the affected fields before saving. Correct invalid entries, including a fractional QPS limit. If the result is unclear or the preview fails, share the error details with your workspace administrator.
The old values return after reloading.
Preview change does not save the edit. Close the preview and select Save, then wait for completion before reloading. If you already saved, check the workspace and placement identity, and read any error shown by the console.
Does saving prove that the request limit is enforced?
Saving and reloading verify the stored placement settings. This recording does not send traffic or measure throttling, fill, or revenue. Use a separate traffic test and serving telemetry to assess those outcomes.
