Questions and answers
Answers about Riptide's managed plans, private deployments, pricing, white-label features, agent permissions, and data ownership.
What is Riptide?
Riptide combines an ad server, supply-side platform (SSP), and demand-side platform (DSP). You can manage inventory, campaigns, programmatic demand, and deals under your own brand.
Can I choose a managed service or a private deployment?
Managed plans run from Starter through Enterprise and charge a monthly fee plus usage. A private deployment is available under a commercial agreement. Contact us to discuss which setup fits your business.
What does white-label include?
Managed plans let you serve ads on your domains, use your branding in the console, and set your own publisher and demand-partner fees. You are not required to display Riptide branding in served ads, the console, or customer reporting.
Who is Riptide built for?
Publishers can manage inventory and demand; advertisers and agencies can run campaigns and track spend. Platform builders can offer these products under their own brand. Developers can add integrations, plugins, and agent workflows.
How can I use AI agents with Riptide?
Connect an MCP-compatible agent to inspect inventory, manage campaigns, and pull reports. Set its permissions and spending limits, and require approval for selected changes. Approval does not override those permissions or limits. Riptide records agent actions so you can review them.
How do the Admin API and MCP relate?
The Admin API lets applications manage Riptide over HTTP. MCP exposes those operations as tools that an agent can discover and call. Browser sign-in and event streams use their own interfaces. The API and MCP guides cover authentication and available operations.
How does pricing work?
Managed plans charge a monthly platform fee plus a percentage of SSP revenue, DSP spend, or ad-server spend. Volume discounts reduce that rate to a minimum of 2%. The fees you charge publishers and demand partners are separate.
What ad-tech standards does Riptide support?
Riptide implements OpenRTB, VAST, ads.txt, sellers.json, ads.cert, GPP privacy signals, and DSA ad disclosures. Coverage varies by standard and version; the standards page lists the supported features and remaining limitations.
How do deals and marketplaces work?
You can offer inventory through an open auction, a marketplace listing, or a negotiated deal. Preferred, guaranteed, and private deals set the terms for eligible buyers. A private-auction-only route limits competition to its deals.
Can Riptide enforce ads.txt and sellers.json at bid time?
Yes. Riptide checks publisher ads.txt and seller records. You can monitor the results or require supply to pass verification before it is eligible for an auction. Scheduled checks help you spot changes in authorization.
Who owns the data?
You own your data. Inventory, demand relationships, and reporting are kept separate for each customer account, on managed plans and in private deployments.
